Fire Sprinkler in Apartment Building
PRI responded to a 20+ unit apartment flood due to a fire sprinkler being activated on the 6th floor of the building. PRI crews mobilized to the site to conduct a full moisture survey of all apartment units, common hallways, utility rooms, and the lobby area. PRI set up drying equipment to stabilize the relative humidity and to prevent additional damages to the structure.
Teams worked around the apartment residents to complete the project on time and on budget. At the end of the project, the building team, and the residents knew our crew members by name and were happy to be on to the reconstruction phase of the project.
Hotel Mold Remediation
While a builder was putting the finishing touches on a high-rise hotel in downtown San Francisco, a fire broke out on the roof. Several units had water damage impacting the drywall of the exterior walls of the rooms.
In order to obtain a “clean bill of health” for the owner, PRI engaged an industrial hygienist to perform preliminary and post remediation verification testing. Since the hotel was near completion, it was critical that PRI protect all of the finishes throughout the building, while working around numerous other trades who were attempting to complete their phase of the project.
PRI crews masked off the areas, protected the flooring, and removed the wet building materials. PRI performed detail cleaning of the wall cavities and hard surfaces throughout the rooms in order to pass final clearances and handed the rooms back over to the builder to complete the project.
Asbestos Abatement
PRI was contacted by a developer to remove asbestos containing materials from three individual structures which were scheduled for demolition. The developer obtained a pre-demolition survey from a testing company, which identified the building materials that needed to be abated prior to demolition.
Our team performed removal of approximately 12,000 square feet of asbestos containing drywall, and sheet vinyl throughout the buildings so that the worn, abandoned buildings could be demolished and a new development could be built.
Rodent Clean-Up
PRI was called to a high end home due to rodent droppings in the attic space. We set containment barriers to isolate the affected rooms, and removed the impacted drywall ceilings, and insulation in order to clean and decontaminate the ceiling cavity. The containment and engineering controls on this project were extremely important in order to protect the high traffic areas, and prevent any cross contamination into the unaffected living spaces.
Apartment Renovation
PRI specializes in apartment renovation projects. PRI has completed hundreds of apartment unit renovations, and currently has several renovation projects in progress. When a property owner wants to upgrade their apartment homes, PRI performs acoustical ceiling scrapes, drywall cutouts, and asbestos removal in order to facilitate plumbing, electrical, and general upgrades to the apartment homes.
